You will often find my head in a book, studying the marketing and drafting experts in the past.
It was while reading one of those books, I discovered how using a drop capital, can increase readership of advertising.
The book was, "Ogilvy on Advertising" – by David Ogilvy
In the book, Ogilvy, advertising and marketing legend, discussed the possibility of using a drop capital (also known as an initial decrease).
Ogilvy was renowned for producing advertising that got results, having helped build some of the most recognized brands in the world, including: American Express, Sears, Ford, Shell, Barbie, Pond's, Dove, and Maxwell House among them, and most recently, IBM and Kodak.
In "Ogilvy on Advertising, Ogilvy is cited saying: "The drop capital increases readership of your body copy an average of 13%."
How does Capital Drop increase readership?
Drop capitals seem to work the same way they do the pictures. In that catches the eye of the readers as they scan the page.
The big capital letter falls into the first paragraph. Because we read from left to right, the eyes naturally move away from the image and text to the right.
The first paragraph is very important and needs to capture the reader's attention and interest to continue reading through the page.
The key point is: "The more people can get to read the text on its website, the more sales you will do." Period!
What really I like fall of the capital as a sales tool, is its subtelty. It is noted: 'Hey! I'm trying to trick you into reading! "I like to refer to it as a technique of "drafting" stealthy. "It is very effective, but without flying above the radar.
This trick is connecting Copywriter Internet sales increase? After reading about the efficacy of capital of gout can be turned off, or I decided to see if it could increase my sales conversion rate, a site selling an eBook.
My first obstacle was learning how to create an effect of capitulating in a web page.
I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to create a graph of a capital letter, which fit into the paragraph. He quickly discovered that it is very easy to create an image that is too large or too small.
He did not want the whole effect to look as amateurish as I felt that my site would look unprofessional and almost certainly 'Hurt' my conversion rates.
After much perseverance and trial and error, I got everything looking just right.
I establish a test Track My division to sales conversion rate
Using a prior art split test tracking software, I launched two different versions of my sales page. The software to divide all incoming traffic to my website. Half of the visitors viewed a page without a drop capital, and the other half saw the same page, but this time with a drop capital.
A piece of tracking code was placed on my 'thank you' page, so I could track my version of the sales page was viewed, every time you made a sale. This scientific method of proof, would prove to me in time that the version of my sales page more sales.
I decided to test at least 100 sales, so that the results would not be a fluke. Finally I left the test divided by 135 sales. My test results revealed that my sales reached 40% Huge!
The test results were quite surprising. Not only demonstrated that the capital drop-line work, but also suggested that even more effective on the websites of the that are not online advertising.
Here are my test result statisitics a website where I'm selling an ebook …
Page without a image capital of the drop: 3,796 unique visitors, 57 new sales, 1.5% conversion rate
Page with an image of capital of the drop: 3,702 visitors alone, 78 new sales, the conversion rate of 2.1%
Although the page with a drop in capital received a little less unique visitors, which managed to sell 21 ebooks more to me. In general, the page with the capital reduction made sales of 40% over the same exact page without capital drop.
I'm sure you will agree that increased sales is very important, especially after changing only one letter on my page web! If you currently do not use images of capital put in your site, you really are leaving money on the table.
Instead of spending all your time and money, trying to get more and more visitors to your site, you really should see how you can increase sales from existing traffic already receiving.
This is the easiest way I've found to make more money, and I did not have to spend an extra dime on advertising to get
